For 2019 I wanted to get a fresh new look.
After watching the Aquaman movie I was in awe of Mera’s gorgeous red hair and decided to give a shot. The last time I dyed my hair that colour was ages ago back in the early 2000s… 10 years later, I have to say that hair chemicals has improved… Hair is no longer grass dry and damaged after being dyed.
Hair colour that won’t break the office dress code- Don’t get me wrong I love the vibrant red of Mera’s hair but it is was a little loud for me, not appropriate for a front line day job as I have to uphold a corporate image. I asked Ken my trusty hair stylist for a recommendation from the colour chart and he picked a lighter shade that would be more obvious under the light, a peek-a-boo kind of shade that was not so obvious.
Hair colour for skin tone – It is important to know your skin tone to match your hair shade, you would want your skin and hair to complement each other. I have warm tanned skin and the red shade gives me a pop of colour.
If you are unsure of what your skin tone is. Check out this quiz I found by https://www.vixendaily.com, it is pretty accurate:

They also have a whole series of quizzes you could do to truly find out which shades and would matches your skin the most.
Red hair is great for all ages – There is so much you can do with red highlights and dyes, different hues from burgundy to orange, copper, ginger and bronze which easily give you that extra dimension to your hair from the otherwise flat look. The possibilities are endless just ensure that it suits your skin tone.
Red dyed hair care – It is normal to experience some bleeding of the hair colour for the first couple of washes, especially for dark bold or vivid colours like blue or red, due to the porosity of the hair or unsuitability of the hair dye. I was advised to wash my hair every 2 days and after my fourth wash, my hair colour has stopped bleeding.
Conclusion on my hair dye job – I dyed my hair brown last August and I am glad that the new red did not fuse to the brown; I once read in a magazine that hair colour fusing is possible. Ken is indeed very skilled he, at the start of every appointment he would study my hair and ask questions on when my last dye job was and if I used any other products before working on my hair. I love my new hair colour it gave my hair a new lease of life, I look refreshed and ready to go, Cheers to kicking off 2019 with a bang!
