In an Asian household, we prefer to do our dishes by hand because we find it more cost-effective, cleaner, and we don’t have to go through the hassle of maintaining a machine. Also for those of us who live in apartments, the size of our apartments are small, and it would be hard to make room for one.
Speaking about washing dishes, having a good sink is essential to any kitchen, one that doesn’t clog up easily with food particles to be exact.
Where can I find such a sink you say…
Best Super Silent Japanese Stedia Sink from Song-Cho – Originally we wanted the SC/SA Kitchen Sink W75cm (B Style Kitchen Sink) but the size was just too big for our kitchen counter so we settled for the Super Silent Stedia Sink SD Kitchen Sink (W65cm) instead which is retailing at S$995.00. I am glad to report it has almost been a year and we love this kitchen sink! It is easy to maintain and clean thanks to the Hydrophilic Special Ceramic Coating which makes daily cleaning a breeze. The sink also remains scratch-free because it is designed with embossing technology the stainless steel is embossed with an e-coat finish making the sink scratch resistant. Now I bet you are wondering what is silent technology, the sink has damping materials on the base and sides to form a high performing vibration control structure which ensures that the water hitting the stainless steel in a quiet manner sound test has sounded the noise produced from water hitting the sink is about 40dB which is about the amount of noise you would hear in a library.
Stream Flow technology of the Super Silent Japanese Stedia Sink – The drainage system of this sink is awesome! It is clearly designed in such a way that your food particles will be trapped in a netting object called a drain basket before the water is drained from the sink bye-bye skin clogs! Quick drainage is possible with the streamflow technology that Cleanup because uses streamflow technology which pushes the water to the drainage.
High-quality detachable detergent rack- I absolutely love the detachable detergent rack that came along with the sink, there is ample space to store all my dish cleaning accessories that drain dry. I totally detest sponge holders which don’t drain out the water making It a breeding ground for germs and bacteria. I can just simply detach the rack and clean it as and when I need too I have a separate sponge to clean my sink and its accessories so I would reach for that and clean the rack once a week with dish detergent.
My sink was installed by Hosen from Swiss Interior who was very meticulous when it came to measurements so I provided him with the sinks plans which I got from calling up Song-Cho to fit my custom made kitchen counters. Hosen is very experienced and I didn’t have to tell him what a housekeeper at my workplace taught me, that you should never make your sink flush with your countertop instead create a slight step above it so that you won’t have water slashing over the sink when in use this is called an under-mount sink.
I hope this post proves to be useful for those who are going to get their home renovated.
