My scotch tape holder came apart and I had run out of tape while packing a parcel for a friend, normally I would pop by the popular bookstore or a hardware shop to make a purchase but they were either closed or didn’t carry what I needed.
Blast… Back to the world wide web, I went…
The bigger office suppliers like Deskright, homenoffice, stationery world which all have a minimum order from $150.00 to $200.00. I didn’t have that many items to purchase so I did a deeper search for more vendors.
Places to purchase basic stationery on an urgent basis during Covid19 – All our supermarkets are open and if you are lucky enough to live near a hypermart that would be fantastic. They carry a small range of stationery such as A4 papers, pens, highlighters, tapes, notebooks, correction tape and files. Prime Supermarket even for the small outlets has a stationery corner, I managed to grab a pack of correction tape from there not my usual brand but as long as it serves it the purpose it would do for now. Some branches of Seven Elevens also have a small shelf of stationery, I saw pen knives, tape and a whole lot of pens on display during my last trip to you.
If you are able to wait for a week or so for your stationery supplies – I got my tape dispenser on Lazada for about $10 inclusive of a box of 8 rolls of 18 x 25mm tape and delivery, totally worth it. I always select local sellers to minimise the waiting time. Ezbuy and Qoo10 are also good options. They do charge a delivery fee but at times like these, it is worth pumping back some money back into the economy, providing jobs for our couriers and supporting local businesses.
Go green by purchasing second-hand stationery – If want to save the earth by reusing someone’s unwanted stationery, you could make your purchase on Carousell. Yes, it is base on trust on how well the items would work but if the price is right and the seller has proved to be trust-worthy via their reviews why not? There are new items people sell off too, some items which were purchased on impulse.
Purchase toners & Printer Ink – A colleague of mine had run out of printers toner and required it within the week. I made an order via Hachi-tech for her, Hachi-tech is the online Challenger store, trustworthy and they provide you with an official invoice so you may claim from your office petty cash once we all return to the office. You also earn points if you are a challenger member, a nice perk.
I hope this post wasn’t frivolous, to me stationery are essential items.
