If you are one who holds practicality over prestige, getting a bang for your buck for a reasonably priced yet quality ring is the ultimate goal for every gent’s mind when it comes to popping the question.

In my case, I went along with my fiancé to purchase my engagement ring, I didn’t want anything too huge or fancy because less is more isn’t it? A tiny simple diamond was all I wanted, something that could be worn daily without the hassle or worry that gems would drop off etc.

Why we chose to get a Forever Mark engagement ring –Forever Mark came to mind because I really like the simplistic design of the solitary rings, the brand does promises each diamond is of great quality solitary rings and I love how my diamond sparkles and am glad it didn’t cost a bomb either. We purchased a 0.2-carat diamond from Lee Hwa Causeway Point branch, just the way I like it tiny but practical and I am able to wear this ring as daily wear without the worry of attracting unwanted attention. There is even an option to trade in the ring for another Forever Mark ring; I felt that it was an excellent privilege.

Malls with a selection of boutique jewellery shops- I found that the malls such as Cause WayPoint and Bugis Junction had a wider selection of jewellery retailers located on their premises.

Causeway Point best place to shop for boutique jewellery-I found that causeway point was an excellent place to purchase jewellery, the boutiques are not massive they each have a good selection of jewellery bigger is not necessarily better, it can be overwhelming when you are spoiled for choice. Jewellery found at causeway point includes Goldheart, Lee Hwa, Poh Heng, SK Jewellery, Tian Poh all conveniently located at the same level so on one trip of window shopping you would be able to roughly decide which store could cater to your taste.

Bugis Junction wide variety of boutique jewellers – SK stellar, Venus Tears, Lee Hwa, Meyson, SK gold, Goldheart, and Citigems. I found that the selection at Bugis was extensive, I somehow found it more stylish than jewellery located in the heartlands. I did go for a round of window shopping just to have an idea of what is available.

On the same day we purchased our wedding bands as well, here are a couple of factors we considered before making our choice:

Metal choices for wedding bands – We preferred white gold or platinum for our wedding bands, rather than yellow gold which is more valuable. A simple silver-coloured band was what we were after. Previously platinum was stronger than and more malleable than white gold but it is common practice now to mix white gold with other alloys such as palladium to make it stronger. Both Platinum and white gold rings are of around the same pricing because a larger amount of platinum is required for one ring to give it the extra weight that gold has. I am not an expert in jewellery but I have worked with gold in the dental line previously. I understand what works go into working with gold and platinum.

Venus Tears Rings

Venus Tears best jewellery shop for wedding bands I wanted a ring engraved with flowers and Sam wanted one which was simple with a touch of gold because his parents were on the more traditional side. I found the perfect pair at the Venus Tears website, they have a range of elegant and simple wedding bands made of platinum. All rings are made to order and manufactured in Japan, The whole process was seamless and customer service at the Jem branch was top-notch. I would definitely recommend Venus Tears to others.
