Why I Started Blogging in Singapore and Where It’s Taken Me

When I started blogging seriously at the age of 25, I had no idea where the journey would lead me. Back then, I was simply documenting my experiences hopping from one hair salon to another, trying out new hairstyles, and sharing my honest reviews.

I also spent many weekends exploring quaint cafes around Singapore—always on the lookout for good food, great ambience, and of course, a good deal. It was a fun, personal passion that slowly grew into something more meaningful.

Over the years, my interests have evolved. While I still enjoy a pampering salon session and a cup of coffee at a hidden gem café, I’ve come to realise that blogging can be so much more than just sharing what I like—it can be a platform to support others.

At the heart of everything I do, my mission has remained the same: to support local businesses and give them the recognition they deserve.

Growing with Purpose

Singapore is home to so many talented entrepreneurs, creative makers, and hardworking service providers. Whether it’s a family-run eatery in the heartlands, a boutique salon tucked away in Chinatown, or a homegrown skincare brand created with love and research—these are the people who make our local scene vibrant and unique.

But as times get harder, especially in today’s economic climate, I’ve noticed that many small businesses struggle to get noticed. Free exposure is increasingly rare, and advertising budgets can be tight for independent brands. That’s where I feel bloggers like myself can make a small but meaningful difference.

My blog, Sweet Bunny Lobang, has become my way of giving back. I may not have a massive following, but I believe that genuine recommendations, written from personal experience, still hold power. I’ve always said, “I do not influence; I recommend.” That’s what I stick to—honest content that helps readers make informed choices while shining a light on the businesses that deserve attention.

A Little Recognition Along the Way

Recently, I was pleasantly surprised to find Sweet Bunny Lobang listed on Feedspot’s “Top Singapore Lifestyle Bloggers” roundup.

To be featured among so many inspiring content creators in Singapore is truly an honour. Blogging can sometimes feel like a lonely path, especially when you’re writing from the heart without expecting anything in return. So moments like this serve as a quiet reminder that the work matters—that it’s reaching someone, somewhere.

To anyone who’s been reading, sharing, or simply cheering me on silently—thank you. Your support keeps this little blog alive.

Evolving, But Staying Rooted

While I still write about hair salons and café adventures, my content now also covers home organisation tips, honest product reviews, and heartful reflections from my daily life. I even started sharing more about my hobbies like gardening, hamster care, and my journey designing websites for local SMEs on Wix.

Each post is a piece of who I am—and a part of Singapore, too. My aim is to stay rooted in my values while growing with the times. As I continue to explore new topics and experiences, I hope to keep providing value to my readers and creating a space that feels welcoming, real, and helpful.

To Fellow Locals and Small Biz Owners

If you’re a small business owner, know this: there are people like me out here who see your effort and believe in your dreams. I may not have the reach of a giant influencer, but I have heart, and I’ll continue using this platform to support and share stories that matter.

And to fellow bloggers and content creators—don’t underestimate the power of your words. Whether one person reads your post or one thousand do, what you create has the ability to uplift, inform, and inspire.

Here’s to More Stories Ahead

Thank you for walking this journey with me. I look forward to sharing more finds, stories, and sweet lobangs in the months ahead. And if you’re ever in need of a recommendation, you know where to find me.

With love and gratitude,
Eveclair
